Rotary drum dryer

Equicurrent and countercurrent versions

Flow rate: 5 to 50 t/hour
Maximum humidity: 5 to 30%
Heat capacity: 500,000 KCal/hour to 5,000,000 KCal/hour

Applications:

Cimma rotary dryers are custom-designed to suit the specific characteristics of the material being dried, offering efficiency and flexibility in the process.

Drying Modes
The process can be carried out with two types of hot gas flow:

  • Counterflow: hot gases meet the material near the outlet, allowing high temperatures and high drying. Suitable for heat-resistant materials.
  • Parallel flow (equicurrent): gas and material move in the same direction, ideal for heat-sensitive materials or materials with high humidity that might stick to walls.

Heating

  • Direct: the material comes into contact with hot gases, produced by combustion or heated air. Simple and economical solution, adopted when the material can be exposed to combustion gases.
  • Indirect: the rotating cylinder is heated externally by a static kiln, avoiding contact with combustion gases. Used for materials that are sensitive or require high temperatures, as in the case of plaster firing.

Construction
Dryers can have single cylinder (for counterflow and parallel flow) or double cylinder (parallel flow only), with better thermal efficiency and smaller footprint.

Internally, blades and diaphragms ensure proper advancement and best heat exchange between gas and material.

Accessories
Cimma provides feeding, unloading, dedusting, thermal insulation and safety devices, as well as equipment for pre-crushing material if needed.

Cimma provides customized, reliable and high-performance rotary dryers for every industrial need.
