Wind separator
Benefits
The Wind Separator combines separation by air current with separation by centrifugal force.
A distributor plate divides and centrifuges the material, and while an upward air current removes the finer fractions, the coarser fractions fall along the walls as they exit the drain.
The fineness is adjusted by varying the position of the whips, the number of distributor plate ailerons, and/or the speed of the plate and fan.
It is well known that the yield of mesh screens drops to practically zero values with materials having a particle size of less than 100 microns, and that the maximum unit output of the screens is also relatively limited.
The Wind Separator is therefore indispensable in grinding plants when a very fine product with constant particle size is required in large quantities.
It can be included in dry grinding plants with mills of any type and allows, by varying the adjustment and internal set-up, to obtain either a fine product free of coarse parts or a granular product without dust.
With the Wind Separator, the efficiency of the grinding machines is increased by pushing away the fine product as it is formed and recycling only the coarse; the grain size characteristics of the product are kept constant, with good overall mill efficiencies, even though the grinding elements are very worn, so less supervision and maintenance is needed.
The internal layout can be changed as needed.
The ” AERVORTEX ” Separator can also be used to remove finer fractions from sands and granulates.
These types of separators are of the “self-ventilated” type so they do not require an external fan for operation while greatly reducing power consumption.
Available in Generation I and Generation II with single and dual motors.
